Cancer Cells Need Sugar to Thrive

If cancer cells need sugar to thrive, it would seem that a low sugar diet would inhibit cancer cells. Recent research performed at UCLA showed that cells that require glucose to function, which cancer cells do, die when deprived of glucose. Diet recommendations for people living with cancer include low sugar/low glycemic index diets.
