The March 28, 2013 issue of Stroke has a meta-analysis of eight prospective cohort studies from around the world looking at fiber intake and risk for stroke. They found that for each additional 7 grams of daily dietary fiber consumed, the risk for hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke combined was reduced by 7%. This is a great reason to have a diet high in fiber. Is there a medication that could do this?
