The April 28 edition of the New York Times had an interesting and amusing article by their health writer, Gretchen Reynolds, on the many ways that sitting is bad for you. She writes about how within 2 days of inactivity, genes are expressed differently in a non-exercised muscle, resulting in smaller amounts of an enzyme that disolves fat being produced.
