Earlier I posted a blurb about a longitudinal study looking at lifelong exercise and cognitive function. Another study was done looking at the 20,000 participants in the Cooper Center Longitudinal Study. The researchers found that those who were most fit at age 50 were 36% less likely to get Alzheimer's disease and those who were least fit. They also found that higher midlife fitness was associated with lower risk of all-cause dementia later in life. This study was published in the February 5 edition of the Annals of Internal Medicine.
