Beetroot Juice May Lower Blood Pressure

The British Journal of Nutrition published a study showing that beetroot reduced systolic blood pressure by 13 mm Hg in normotensive men. A twist on this story is that when the researchers added 100 grams of either red or white beetroot juice to a special bread, they noted nearly the same drops in blood pressure. Hopefull other studies will be done to confirm this and the bread recipe will be made available. It would be tough to have to eat beets everyday. Once in a while is OK.
