Psoriasis and Vigorous Physical Activity

A study published on May 21, 2012 in the Archives of Dermatology, using data from the Nurses Health Study II, found that vigorous activity reduced the risk of psoriasis. Interestingly, walking was not vigorous enough to reduce the risk. The activity had to be more vigorous than that. Psoriasis is an inflammatory disease affecting the skin. Exercise helps reduce the body's inflammatory load, so it makes sense that exercise would reduce the risk of psoriasis.
