A study presented at the American Diabetes Association (ADA) 72nd Scientific Sessions found that women who ate breakfast 5 or more times per week had a lower incidence of getting diabetes and tended to gain less weight compared to those who had breakfast 0-3 times per week. Overall those with a higher quality diet had a lower incidence of type 2 diabetes, but breakfast frequency seemed to be even more important. While this study did not mention it, it is also important to include protein with breakfast. This cuts down on mid-morning hunger and is healthier.
